My Experience as an Online Student

    (Advantages and Disadvantages)

I am Vince Cedrick A. Caridad, 23 years old taking up Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Major in Business Analytics.    With this pandemic still taking its toll to our world even though 1 year had already passed we are still unsure on when we can go back to our old normal before this pandemic.

To make this blog short and precise I will state my opinions about the advantages and disadvantages of being an online student according to what I am experiencing and thoughts of some students that are under this kind of learning.

Advantages:

  1. Somehow convenient as you are not required to travel in order to go to class.
  2. Professors are considerate assuming that you have valid reasons for your delays in submission.
  3. The learning modules are easily accessible online.
  4. The policy of having 1 synchronous and 1 asynchronous meeting in a week provides time for activities.
  5. Resources at home is not so limited as when you are in school. Examples of these are food, water and etc.
Disadvantages:
  1. You are at your comfort zone and tend to procrastinate often.
  2. Students may have problems if they don't manage their time well.
  3. Intermittent and poor connection provided by the Internet Service Provider.
  4. Less effective in learning compared to face-to-face classes.
  5. Lacks hands on activities and involvement in class.
